Wolcott Dog Pound

*** Reunited with Owner ***
Wolcott Impound #19
This poor little girl was spotted in the middle of Clark Street!
A few concerned residents attempted to catch her, but she had other plans! She high-tailed it into a backyard, where she decided to hunker down and hope nobody would find her.
Well, we found her! And in typical Chihuahua fashion, this little lady wasn't about to make things easy! 😂 Small dog, BIG attitude, and absolutely no interest in cooperating!
A good old-fashioned standoff followed, with neither side willing to give in. That is, until the treats came out! Apparently, her stomach had more negotiating power than we did!
She was found wearing a Seresto collar, but unfortunately, she has no microchip or other identification. And as far as telling us where she lives? She's refusing to give it up! Apparently, that's classified information, and she's not talking! 😂
Now that she's safely at the Wolcott Dog Pound, she's had a complete change of attitude! The tough little street fugitive has turned into a sweet little charmer, smoozing us, soaking up the attention, and acting like we're all best friends. Funny how quickly those Chihuahua attitudes can change when room service is involved! ❤️
If you recognize this little lady or know where she belongs, please contact Wolcott Animal Control at 203-879-7620 or the Wolcott Police Department at 203-879-1414.

❤️🐾 WOLCOTT #17 — MEET BARRY 🐾❤️
Sometimes a dog comes through our doors who needs a little more than just a safe place to stay. Sometimes they need someone to stop, look at them, and say, “We’ve got you now.”
That’s exactly what happened with our newest boy, Wolcott #17 — Barry. 🐶❤️
Barry is the young intact male who was dumped on Central Avenue Friday night. He was first spotted in the area of 188 Central Avenue around 8:30 PM, where residents tried but were unable to catch him. Thankfully, a caring resident was eventually able to safely catch Barry near 172 Central Avenue and bring him to the Wolcott Dog Pound.
Barry was immediately scanned for a microchip, but unfortunately, he had no identification and no owner has come forward.
And then came the part that broke our hearts. 💔
Barry was in desperate need of some TLC. He was dirty, uncomfortable, and clearly had been through quite an ordeal.
So we reached out for help — and Kim and Sandy, the owners of Mack and Molly’s Pet Parlor, dropped everything to help our boy. ❤️
They didn't hesitate.
They took Barry in, cleaned him up, gave him the grooming he desperately needed, and most importantly, gave him something he desperately needed even more…
LOVE. 🥹❤️
As you can see from these pictures, Barry quickly realized that he was safe. Those kisses say it all. 🥰🐾
The transformation is incredible. From a scared, neglected dog wandering the streets to this adorable little guy proudly showing off his new look!
Thank you, Kim and Sandy, for dropping everything for Barry. Your kindness and compassion mean more than you know. It takes a village to care for these animals, and we are incredibly grateful to have people in our community who will step up when a dog needs us most. ❤️
Barry still has a road ahead of him. He will remain under the care of Wolcott Animal Control/Wolcott Dog Pound while we work through his stray hold and everything else he needs.
For now, though, Barry has a name.
He has a warm, safe place to sleep.
He has people caring for him.
And he has learned that maybe… just maybe… the humans aren't all bad. ❤️🐾
Welcome to Wolcott, Barry.
Your new chapter starts now. 🐶❤️

WOLCOTT IMPOUND #17

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
🐾 SOMEONE KNOWS THIS BOY. 🐾
This young, intact male was found abandoned on Central Avenue Friday night, October 2nd, and we are asking our community to help us figure out where he came from and what happened to him.
At approximately 8:30 PM, he was first spotted in the area of 188 Central Avenue. Residents attempted to catch him but were unsuccessful. Thankfully, a caring resident near 172 Central Avenue was eventually able to safely catch him and transported him to the Wolcott Dog Pound.
Once at the pound, he was immediately scanned for a microchip.
*He had no microchip.
*No collar.
*No tags.
*No identification.
And then we got a closer look at this poor boy.
Despite the obvious lack of grooming and care, this young guy was still happy, friendly and sweet. He had a personality that somehow remained bright despite what he had been through.
But his physical condition was heartbreaking.
The smell of urine was overwhelming. When we went to pick him up, he was completely urine-soaked and literally dripping urine.
The matting around his head was so severe that his face appeared swollen. His eyes were difficult to locate beneath the mats, and you could barely find his ears.
The mats covering his body were so tight that they were beginning to cause skin tears.
And his feet…
His feet were severely matted and neglected as well.
This isn't simply a dog who needed a haircut.
This boy had clearly gone far too long without basic grooming, hygiene and care.
And yet…
*HE WAS STILL HAPPY.
*He still wanted attention.
*He still trusted people.
*He still had a wagging tail.
That is what makes this even more heartbreaking.
We have spoken with both the finder and another caring resident in the area in an effort to gather information that may help us determine exactly where and when this boy was abandoned.
NOW WE NEED OUR COMMUNITY'S HELP.
If you recognize this dog…
If you know who he belongs to…
If you saw him in the area Friday night…
If you live along Central Avenue between Old Boundline Road and Farview Avenue…
PLEASE CHECK YOUR SECURITY CAMERAS.
*Check your doorbell cameras.
*Check your home surveillance.
*Check your business cameras.
Even if you don't think you captured anything important, please look.
A vehicle.
A person.
Someone walking a dog.
Someone stopping along the road.
A dog being dropped off.
ANYTHING could help us put the pieces together.

📞 Wolcott Police Department: 203-879-1414 ***IMPORTANT***
Wolcott Impound #17 is currently on a 7-day stray hold pending the outcome of this investigation.
At this time, he is not available for adoption.
Someone knows this boy.
Someone may have seen something.
And someone may have information that can help us determine where he came from and how he ended up in this condition.
We are asking everyone to please SHARE this post. The more people who see him, the better chance we have of finding the answers he deserves.
And to the residents who took the time to try to catch him, ultimately got him safely contained, and brought him to the Wolcott Dog Pound:
THANK YOU.
You saw a dog in need and you stopped to help.
Now let's see if we can do the same thing as a community and help Wolcott Impound #17 get the answers he deserves.
Someone knows this boy. Please help us find them.
