Wolfeboro Public Library Foundation Inc.

Wolfeboro Public Library Foundation Inc. Our vision is to raise the funds to construct and expand a multi generational library for the town of Wolfeboro.

Built in 1979, the Wolfeboro Public Library building has served the community well. Over 89,000 people visited the library last year alone - that is an increase of over 29,000 visitors since 2005.

40 years of wear and tear have taken their toll. The building suffers from a leaking roof, poor insulation, high maintenance costs, worn out heating and air conditioning systems, outdated plumbing, and

other structural deficiencies. During the busy season, the library becomes overcrowded due to lack of space. Our building was designed for a different time and before the arrival of modern technology. Today's visitors are looking for access to the latest technology, quiet comfortable study areas, social and varied meeting spaces, and more. Our building was not designed to satisfy these needs. It is important for the future of the Wolfeboro Public Library to complete this important renovation and expansion in order to extend the life of the building and continue serving the community for the next 40 years.

The library will present Steve Hale of Open World Explorers on Monday, December 7th at 4 PM with a virtual slideshow presentation of Winter Backyard Birds.

Steve's Winter Backyard Birds program was created in the same interactive, bird-quiz format as his very popular Backyard Birds presentation, which has been given to many groups over the past few years. These programs enable the audience to test their own knowledge. ID tips are offered for identifying common and not-so-common Winter birds frequenting the backyards in our area. Advice on attracting and feeding birds will be provided. Introduction to the annual Audubon Christmas Bird Count and how to participate is included.

This program is offered free of charge and on a first-come, first-served basis. Please call the library at 569-2428 or email [email protected] to register and receive the Zoom meeting sign-up details. Participants will need to download the Zoom app on their computers beforehand.
