This is overdue, but better late than never. The Solid Waste staff would like to thank the voters for their votes for Article 27, Solid Waste Upgrades, as well your support in the whole budget. We have already started on Upgrades and should be done with the majority of Phase 1 by June. The remainder will be done in late fall.

The Plastics baler has been ordered and will hopefully be up and running by June 1st. If it is delayed, we will keep you updated.

Starting 4/4/22, we will be temporarily closing the Demo and Scrap Metal area until 4/20/22. We are doing some upgrades to the facility to make it better and safer for all.

The following is a full-time position with benefits;

The Town of Wolfeboro is seeking applications for the position of Solid Waste Operator/Building & Grounds. Under direct supervision of the PW Operations Manager or Chief SW Operator, operates various equipment on a daily basis, and performs a variety of routine manual duties involving the separation of all recyclable materials, constructing, repairing, cleaning and maintaining Town Facilities. UPDATE: the part needed for the plastics baler repair is backordered for at least 3 months with a cost of over $7,000. The baler is 25 years old and is due to be replaced this spring if the PW Equipment and Vehicles money passes at voting. So unfortunately, we will not be recycling plastics until May at the earliest.

The Solid Waste Facility will be closed Monday, 1/17/22, for Civil Rights Day.

Due to a mechanical breakdown of the Plastics baler, we will not be recycling plastics until it can be fixed. Our baler service company is talking with the manufacturer to see if and when parts are available. This baler is hopefully being replaced this year. Thank you!

The Solid Waste facility will be closed Wednesday (12/22) and Thursday (12/23) as usual, but will also be closed Friday (12/24) and Saturday (12/25).
We will also be closed on Saturday, 1/1/22.

Please plan accordingly.
