Last night we held our annual banquet. A great time was had by all. Congratulations to Nate Williams as Firefighterof the year. And a huge shout out to all who have supported our department throughout the years. We have been able to stock our trucks with the tools we need to do our job safely and effectively. And thank you Onward Wolsey for the amazing shirts by Eden Designs.

Last night, Mike McCready and Nate Williams (Wolsey FD) Barry Hershman (Cavour FD) and our own Deputy Chief Logan Rietveld presented a check to the Salvation Army for $8,869 from our annual Bell Ringing night. Since 1960, we have raised nearly $190,000 from our bell ringing nights. We appreciate the support from the community to continue helping the Salvation Army with their programs!

Yesterday, 12/22/25, at approximately 18:00 Wolsey Fire was dispatched to a rural address on 209th St for a structure fire. Upon arrival firefighters were met with heavy fire conditions throughout the home. An interior fire attack was attempted, however due to deteriorating conditions and lack of water supply firefighters were forced to withdraw and conduct exterior operations only. Unfortunately the structure was nearly a total loss.

Aid was received from Huron and Hitchcock Fire departments along with Wolsey Ambulance and Beadle County Sheriff. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
