In May of last year I was appointed to be on our Special Events Committee. It has been a blast to be a part of the team planning out the 2025 City of Wood Dale Prairie Fest! The biggest goal this year was to get a headliner that would appeal to a larger audience and help bring even more attention to our amazing city. Our events committee along with city staff has been hard at work on this year's fest since July of last year and I think it's safe to say we hit the ball out of the park in landing this years headliner Everclear! This band has sold over 6 million records, released 12 top 40 hits, and has multiple platinum selling albums! Special thanks to Entertainment Management Group - EMG for partnering with the city to secure a great music lineup this year!

Aside from Everclear on Friday night the entire 4 days will be packed with amazing music spanning multiple genres, a great carnival, a wide variety of food and beverage choices, a top tier fireworks show on Saturday, and returning for a 3rd year in a row we have ZOWA Live Wrestling on Sunday!!

Once again it was an honor to serve breakfast to our Veterans and their families this morning! City of Wood Dale, Wood Dale Park District, VFW Tioga Post 2149, and Itasca Bank & Trust Co. did a great job putting together this amazing event to honor our Veterans. Thank you to all who came out today, and most importantly a big thank you to all who have served our great country!!

⛈The special events team and the Dale Police Department have closely monitored the weather for the Sounds of Summer Concert and Cruise Night. The City has determined that this event scheduled for tonight- Friday, August 16, 2024, should be CANCELLED due to predicted severe weather in the area. Wood Dale will be in the path of possible severe thunderstorms (gusty winds and hail) around 7 to 10 pm. ⛈

We hope to bring R-Gang Music back to Wood Dale soon! Thank you to the community for supporting our safety-first method!🚨

Great to volunteer once again this year at the City of Wood Dale sponsored Senior Club Meeting at Wood Dale Park District! The city provided an awesome breakfast from Christys and shared some updates on things going on in Wood Dale. It was great to see everyone - Thanks for having us!

Wood Dale Police Night Out is still happening tonight from 5 PM - 7 PM! Unfortunately, due to the weather, the pool portion of our event will be cancelled. Please come out and enjoy the festivities!

Thank you to Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi for your work in securing a grant for the City of Wood Dale totaling $959,752! This grant money will go toward big updates to our water distribution system. Work on this project will begin in fiscal year 2025.

Well...The weather finally cleared up last night and it turned out to be an amazing evening! Thanks to everyone who came out to see The Smithereens!!! City of Wood Dale Prairie Fest re-opens again today at 1pm. We've got a lot more amazing music all day and a big fireworks show tonight that you won't want to miss! Make sure to come see me or any member of the Wood Dale Lions Club to get your 50/50 Raffle Tickets. Last years winner took home $1400!!! Look forward to seeing everyone again today!
