The City of Wood Dale is a northwest suburban community of approximately 13,000 residents. History recognizes the Lester family as the most significant contributors to the City of Wood Dale’s founding. John Lester arrived from New York in 1834 and, along with his father and five of his brothers, made a claim on Irving Park Road at Salt Creek, an area then known as Dunklees Grove. Wood Dale is a co

Wood Dale is currently experiencing economic growth, both in its industrial district as well as its downtown area. Wood Dale has a daytime population of over 35,000.
