🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Today, we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy and honor those who have fought to protect them. From all of us at the Wood-Ridge Police Department, we wish you and your family a safe, happy, and memorable Fourth of July.

If you’re celebrating today, please drive sober, look out for one another, and enjoy the festivities responsibly. And remember…… leave the fireworks to the professionals!

Residents, be advised of the message we’ve received from the Noise Abatement & Environmental Compliance Manager at Teterboro Airport.

Teterboro Airport will be hosting 4 US Navy helicopters that will be taking part in the July 4th/America250 Week events in the NYC metro area. These aircraft are expected to arrive into TEB on Wednesday July 1st and will be conducting flights on a daily basis through Thursday July 9th.

The helicopters will utilize the typical helicopter departure and arrival patterns into/out of TEB, however they may utilize slightly different flight paths as directed by Air Traffic Control.

Day 3 of the WRPD Junior Police Academy

Recruits reported at 0800hrs. Det. Cangialosi worked on drill and ceremony practice with the class, before making their way to the Wood-Ridge Little League field for a demonstration.

The Hackensack University Medical Center Med-Evac helicopter made a landing at the LL field. Recruits met with Pilot Sean Sharp, David Reilly RN CFRN, and Patrick Boyce Medic who went over everything they do during their shift on the helicopter. Recruits got the opportunity to sit in the helicopter and have any questions they might have answered.

After returning to C.E. Doyle, Bergen County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Spina, his K-9 Gucci, and S/O Cutrona joined the class and preformed a K-9 demonstration. P/O Roncaioli and P/O Hutchison were brave enough to take a hit from Gucci.

The Wood-Ridge Fire Department joined the class and went over the workings of one of their Engines. Chief Meglio, Firefighter Fallon, and Firefighter Altamura allowed students to utilize one of the fire hoses! The hot day then ended with a wet down of the class!
