When Washington talks “pause” on education funding, our local children may be at risk.
In 2025, a brief federal freeze affected billions for public education. And the US Dept of Education could withhold grants that Amity depends on for special education and low-income student support.
See how national decisions ripple into our classrooms — and why your local vote matters more than ever.

📊 Budgets reflect priorities and there’s been a lot of talk about Amity’s budget of late.

We asked Amity Board of Ed candidates in Orange how they’d assess the district’s budget proposal — here’s what they said (and who didn’t respond).

Election season is underway! Voters across all three towns are casting their votes to fill six of the thirteen Amity Board seats, which oversee our middle and high schools and make decisions about policy, budget, and curriculum that affect our children and towns as a whole.

We are pleased once again to have participation from Republican and Democratic-endorsed candidates - please take a moment to learn what they have to say about matters facing the Board so you can cast an informed vote! https://www.amityallies.org/voter-guide

We’re excited to share that the Amity Board and administration are continuing their community conversations this Monday - unlike Board meetings, they are designed to be interactive and responsive to parent and caregiver questions.

The topic this time is student mental wellness, details are below - it starts at 6:30 at the high school. The first session was really insightful, we highly recommend trying to make it if you are interested!

As you probably know, the Amity Referendum passed by 1246 votes for, 808 votes against (unofficial count). Even better, it passed by a significant margin in each of the three towns 📈.

As always, we are proud to take a stand on behalf of our excellent public schools and what they do for our community, and salute our volunteers, financial supporters, and everyone who came out to vote 🫡!

We’re excited to invite you to join us at NEBCO this Wednesday (24th), starting at 5PM - there’s so much to celebrate: being one and done, the arrival of warmer weather, the end of the school year, and all the new friends we’ve made along the way.

We hope to see you there!🍻
