April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. COVID-19 forced Child Protection Partnership and other local organizations to alter their public awareness events, to include our annual luncheon. As April comes to a close, we wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who supported Child Protection Partnership during Child Abuse Prevention Month by liking and sharing posts and raising awareness of child abuse and neglect. 💙🧡Although COVID-19 prevented the events, the staff from the Department of Social Services went ahead and planted the pinwheel garden at the McCoart Government Center to raise awareness about child abuse prevention. 💙🧡

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The pinwheel is the national symbol for child abuse prevention. Please help spread awareness of the realities of child abuse by displaying a pinwheel in your workplace, organization, or community. The more we talk about and spread awareness regarding the realities of child abuse, the closer we come to ending it.

Child abuse prevention is anything we do as individuals, communities, or through policies to strengthen families and build community resilience. Protective factors like knowledge of child development, social connectedness, parental resilience, social emotional competence and providing concrete support in times of need all strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect.
