Stand With StreetLight: An Urgent Appeal
Dear Friends and Supporters,
StreetLight is facing an urgent and unexpected challenge, and we need your help.
Following a major insurance claim, we have encountered extraordinary obstacles securing the coverage required to continue operating. Despite every effort, we are facing overwhelming insurance requirements, difficult stipulations, and dramatic premium increases that have placed a serious burden on our ministry.
Our liability insurance alone increased from $13,000 annually to $24,000 to keep operations moving forward. While our services remain uninterrupted, we are still urgently working to finalize property insurance coverage. Current quotes could bring our total insurance costs to nearly $60,000 — an unsustainable increase for a nonprofit serving vulnerable individuals and families in crisis.
Today, StreetLight has an immediate need of $50,000 to secure critical insurance coverage, protect housing programs, and sustain operations during this transition.
As a precautionary measure, 12 clients in our housing program are currently being cared for in temporary hotel accommodations while final insurance matters are resolved. Every service and support system remains in place.
Every day, StreetLight walks alongside people facing homelessness, addiction, trauma, instability, and crisis — individuals who often have nowhere else to turn. This mission is a lifeline for some of the most vulnerable members of our community. God has remained faithful through every step of this journey, and we trust He will continue to provide.
Today, we are asking you to stand with StreetLight.
Your immediate gift of any amount will help ensure vulnerable individuals continue receiving housing, care, support, and hope during this critical time, as StreetLight remains committed to securing more sustainable insurance solutions going forward and strengthening our long-term budget through ongoing fundraising and sharing of our mission.
