Thank you to all who donated books for the Peru school book drive. 🧑

From Sam Martin:
"The books from our book drive have finally made it to Peru! I installed 2 libraries in two rural elementary schools. Sharing some photos to share with library folks. Thank you for your support!"

Earth Day in Woodbridge was a whole thing this year. The rain showed up. The crowd showed up bigger. A town really did show up for itself.

Our booth was about one idea: everything is connected, and water is what does the connecting.

We spent the day in conversation with people about it β€” what it means for ecosystems, for communities, for the way we live. A local magician caught the theme and ran with it, pulling out a set of interlocking rings to show sky, earth, nature, and people all linked. He pulled a crowd that would not move. Honestly, magic.

Huge thanks to the students from Amity High and Beecher Road who carried the conversations all day, and to every single volunteer, vendor, and neighbor who made it work.

A few numbers from the day:

1,600+ people
100 volunteers
47 educational exhibits, 42 vendors and farms
1,704 lbs of clothes rehomed (1,652 lbs donated)
852 lbs of bikes back in circulation
31 roads cleaned
1,000+ books rehomed
25 things fixed at the Fix It Station

If you want more on the work behind our booth β€” water, ecology, the relationships that hold them together β€” head to fore.yale.edu

Big thanks to Woodbridge Town Library and the city of Woodbridge!

Next Saturday, join us at the library for some tea and chocolates, courtesy of Kim Larkin of Klassic Kreations Workshops !

Celebrate the bold women who birthed the suffrage revolution over a pot of tea. We will be highlighting the tenacity of Ida B. Wells, Susan B. Anthony, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucretia Mott and many more movers and shakers from that era. Highlights include the tea party that launched the suffrage movement, interactive trivia and your choice of vintage hats to set the mood.
