The Amity Regional School District No. 5 budget referendum will be held:

🗓Tuesday, May 5, 2026
⏰6:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Voting locations:

📍Bethany Town Hall, 40 Peck Road

📍High Plains Community Center (Orange), 525 Orange Center Road

📍The Center (Woodbridge), 4 Meetinghouse Lane

Funding for the Amity budget comes primarily from the district’s three member towns, with additional revenue from state and other sources.

Town contributions are based on student enrollment (Average Daily Membership).

This structure ensures costs are distributed proportionally across the region.

The proposed budget includes an increase in (FTE) positions, including:

📌 A special education teacher due to enrollment

📌 Middle school health and physical education teachers to allow for changes in the middle school schedule

📌 A school engagement specialist, previously grant funded

The budget also supports program development, including additional assistant coaches for tennis and girl’s wrestling.

The 2026–2027 budget increase is primarily driven by:

🔸Salary and contractual obligations
🔸Employee benefits
🔸Transportation costs
🔸Utility expenses

At the same time, decreases in debt service help offset some of these increases.
