Community Day begins after orientation on August 17th from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Here's an opportunity to meet and see what Hylton has to offer to its students via clubs, activities, and community partners. There will be food trucks, concessions, music, games, prizes, and more. We hope everyone is having a fantastic and safe summer! One important part of getting ready for the new school year is laptop distribution. Laptops will be distributed during the following dates/times:

-Monday, July 31 - Friday, August 4 -- Each day from 8 AM - 4 PM outside of Door #4 -(near music hallway)
-Monday, August 7 - Friday, August 11 -- Each day from 8 AM - 4 PM outside of Door #4 (near music hallway)
-Monday, August 21- Friday, August 28 (1st week of school) -- During 1st period classes only

Please note the following information regarding laptop distribution:

-It is highly recommended for students to check out laptops during the first two weeks of distribution, from July 31st to August 4th or from August 7th to August 11th.
-Any student who still has a laptop issued from the 2022-23 school year must return it before being issued a new one.
-Laptops issued for summer school should be kept by the student until summer school concludes.

Congratulations to AFJROTC who earned the Distinguished Unit with Merit Award! This put Hylton AFJROTC as a top 40 unit out of 880 units worldwide! One key part of this is that the average community service time of our cadets was 15 hours! Way to go!

Congratulations to Mr. Basham, Mr. Brown, and Mr. Tutwiler who received the VA Music Educators Association Blue Ribbon Award! It is the highest award given to school music programs in Virginia and recognizes achieved excellence in band, orchestra, and choral performance.

Congratulations to Rebecca Clark for winning her case as attorney for the appellee in the case of The Commonwealth v. Dominique Stephens! Rebecca presented her argument in front of six sitting justices in the Virginia Supreme Court. Only eight high schools advanced to this level from the state of Virginia. Way to go Rebecca and the Mock Trial Bulldogs!!!
