Over the past four years, Mt. Angel Fire District and the Monitor Fire District have partnered closely, sharing volunteers, co-funding staffing, and working side by side to serve our communities.

This collaboration has proven successful in strengthening our emergency response while keeping costs efficient.

After careful study and consultation both Fire District Boards have voted to move forward with a consolidation initiative iwith the goal of placing it on the up coming 2026 ballot.

Why are we doing this?
✅ To keep pace with rising call volume and inflation
✅ To reduce volunteer burnout and support our responders
✅ To create a sustainable budget for equipment, staffing, and training
✅ To continue providing excellent fire and emergency services for both communities
This is not an idea that just came out of nowhere. It’s the next step in a partnership that has already proven itself.
In the coming months, we will be engaging with the community, answering questions, and sharing details about how consolidation will benefit both Mt. Angel and Monitor.

We wanted to thank our Law Enforcement partners on LEO appreciation day. We appreciate them everyday and to be honest, without them, who'd direct traffic for us. JK. Thank you for all you do !! 😉
