On 8/15/26 Woodbury Officers became aware of a “Pop up Party” on the 100 block of High St. While checking the area, they located a large group of individuals in the backyard of a residence with loud music playing. While monitoring the gathering, at some point the host began to kick people out advising the party was over. At this point, a large number of individuals, several being juveniles, flooded out onto the street and began congregating in areas throughout the city, causing several quality-of-life issues which included trespassing, assaults and harassment. The group was loud, disruptive and unwilling to cooperate with law enforcement commands. Officers dealt with these individuals for the next several hours, as they continued to arrest, relocate and move them along. Due to the extreme public inconvenience that was created by the group, multiple individuals were charged for hosting the event, including three adult residents of the property and the landlord.
The charges included:
- Failure to Supervise (24 Counts)
- Disorderly Conduct (24 Counts)
- Breach of Peace (24 Counts)
- Maintaining Nuisance Property (4 counts)
- Occupancy Standards Violation (8 Counts)
On 8/22/26 Officers became aware of a Pop-Up party on the 400 block of Prince St. After responding to the area and locating where the party was being held, they began to monitor the situation. At some point, the number of individuals that were arriving for the party started to create a public inconvenience, becoming a safety issue for the community. The party was shut down, however Officers then dealt with a massive number of juveniles and young adults who remained in the area, attempting to congregate at other nearby locations. The groups were disorderly and unwilling to cooperate with law enforcement. This went on for several hours while Officers tried to get the juveniles to arrange for transportation to leave the area. Several juvenile charges are pending and the homeowners have already been charged in relation to the gathering.
The current charges include:
- Enabling/Offering Alcoholic Beverages to Minors (2 counts)
- Disorderly Conduct (4 counts)
- Breach of Peace (4 counts)
- Parental Responsibility (2 counts)
As these Pop-up Parties continue to be an ongoing issue with adults allowing them to be held at their properties, Woodbury Police will continue to enforce the law, holding all involved parties, including the homeowners/renters and landlords, responsible for the public inconvenience that is created by brining large groups of individuals to the area. Any individual who is found to assist in promoting the event will be charged accordingly as well.
