Today, we extend our sincere thanks to Joan Leedy and Mark Spaniol for their years of leadership and service. Joan and Mark retired in May 2026, leaving a lasting impact on the fire protection industry. We celebrated them with an event on May 28th and shared stories of our history and growth.

Joan founded Dyne Technologies LLC in 1999, building a customer-focused company that continues to shape Dyne today. Starting with firefighting foam testing and later antifreeze solution testing, she introduced industry-leading practices such as a 5-business day turnaround, complimentary sample kits and shipping, exceptional customer service, and comprehensive reporting. These innovations helped set a new standard for the industry.

In 2013, Mark acquired Dyne, which became Dyne Fire Protection Labs. Under his leadership, the lab experienced significant growth, adding sprinkler testing and dry chemical agent testing He also led efforts to enhance automation and operational efficiency, strengthening Dyne’s ability to deliver reliable service and fast turnaround times.

As a part of NFPA Global Solutions, Dyne continues to build on the foundation Joan and Mark established, expanding access to trusted testing, inspection, and compliance resources for the fire protection community worldwide.

We are in Vaughan, Ontario Canada today at the Canadian Fire Safety Association (CFSA) Conference & Expo!
