Anyone can be a friend to the earth, adopt a drain and become a friend to earth today 💧🌎🍂

Adopt-a-Drain asks community members to adopt a storm drain in their neighborhood and keep it clear of leaves, trash, and other debris to reduce water pollution. Storm drains flow directly to local lakes, rivers, and wetlands, acting as a conduit for trash and organic pollutants. Volunteer fifteen minutes, twice a month, for cleaner waterways and healthier communities.

You can adopt a drain in your neighborhood, give it a name, and track your effort online at https://mn.adopt-a-drain.org/

Happy First Day of Spring!

Birdfoot Violet (Viola pedata) is a native flower that blooms from March through June. The flower was given the common name Birdfoot after its leaf blades, cleft into 3 to 5 parts like a bird's foot. In the watershed district, these beauties are likely to be found around the Mississippi River bluffs and wherever there is part shade, dry or sandy, open prairies and woodlands.
