Good afternoon Woodbury!! Guess what? Only 26 days until Spring!!!
But until then, let’s talk snow.
As you can see the snow has started to fall. It’s not part of the big system but it’s still here. The main system will join us around dinner time tonight. The heaviest snowfall will be between 3am -6am Monday morning. Now the good news is the snow up here will be lighter and fluffy which is easier to move unlike the snow they will be getting in the southeast Connecticut towns. So with that said, Eversource does not anticipate widespread power outages in our area. So that’s a good thing!
Snow amounts for Woodbury are predicted to be in the 12-18” range. Public works crews will be out the entire storm keeping the roads as clear as possible.
It’s New England. We all know the drill. Stay at home. Make a nice tall glass of Nestle quick chocolate milk (my favorite) and watch the snow fall. Please stay off the roads. Everything will be closed anyway.
Updates will be posted on the towns website as needed and we will update here time permitting. Sometimes we get busy with emergencies.
Have a great afternoon, enjoy watching the snowfall and stay safe.

I have some great news for everyone tonight! Only 27 more days until Spring!!! Isn’t that great? Ok, now the not so good news. More snow! Hey it’s New England. Anyway, at this point the snow amounts are still bouncing around but it looks like the state can expect around 12-18” with the higher amounts along the shore. When will it start? Well that too is ranging from 1pm Sunday to 5pm Sunday. Not a big deal with the snow. However they also are expecting some high winds and as we all know that increases the chance for power outages. So if you have a generator, you may want to be sure it runs and have some extra fuel for it. And of course please follow safe operations when running a portable generator. As always watch for neighbors who may need a hand with snow removal. Rest assured that public works will be out there plowing. And dont forget, not everyone can be the first street to get plowed. And of course all the emergency services are fully prepared for whatever get thrown at us.
We will post updates as accurate information arises. And dont forget, only 27 more days until Spring!
More to come tomorrow late morning.
Have a great night!

By the way, be on the lookout for the groundhog. I believe the police department would like to have a little chat with him!!
