CANNON COUNTY CITIZENS

MANDATORY MASK REQUIRED

In compliance with the Tennessee Supreme Court order (see attached photo of the order) the Cannon County Courthouse will require anyone entering inside the courthouse to wear a facial mask.

There will be signs posted on the entrance doors explaining the requirement and a copy of the court order.

This decision was made by the Tennessee Supreme Court and is a requirement for ALL 95 counties in the State of Tennessee.

I recognize some people support mask mandates while others feel as though this is an infringement upon their rights. This post is not designed to have that debate. This post is for your information only.

Please also understand this decision was not made on a local level by Sheriff Darrell Young, County Executive Brent Bush or by any member of the Cannon County Commission.

This was a court order by the Tennessee Supreme Court so if you have issues with this requirement then feel free to contact them and express those concerns because no one on a local level can ignore a court order.

Again, I am just trying to provide you with the information that I have to ensure we have complete transparency.

Also, please visit the official county website at cannoncountytn.gov for more information. It is going to be the main place for all information in the county as we move forward. I encourage you to check it out!

Thanks,

Corey Davenport
2nd District Commissoner
