Please help us congratulate our Fire Explorers on their overall first place in the Governor’s Fire Prevention Day Competition! 🏅

Woodbury Fire Explorers competed with explorer teams from around the state in various EMS Fire categories. Along with the first place overall, Explorer Quentin took first place in gear donning!

We are very proud of the confidence, teamwork, critical thinking, communication skills and hard work these young leaders demonstrated during this competition!

🚨 Emergency Training Alert 🚨

On Tuesday, Sept. 8, from 7 a.m. to noon, emergency responders will be conducting a public safety training exercise near Tamarack Nature Preserve. Please don’t be alarmed if you see a large presence in the area. Parking will be prohibited on both sides of Tower Drive north of Valley Creek Road during the exercise, but the neighborhood will remain accessible.

It’s back to school season for many Woodbury students! Please help our students stay safe as they go to and from school by paying extra attention, slowing down, watching for children and observing all laws pertaining to school zone safety.

A few friendly reminders:
- Stop for school buses when the red lights are activated.
- Slow down, pay attention, and put the distractions away.
- As a pedestrian, check to see all cars are stopped before crossing or entering the roadway.

And a few reminders regarding e-transportation:
- E-motos are not permitted in city parks or on city trails. These modes’ throttle exceeds 20 mph. Street-legal e-motos must be licensed with the State of Minnesota before operation on roadways.
- Electric-assisted bike (e-bike) riders must be at least 15 years of age.
- E-scooter users must be at least 12 years old and must wear a helmet.

We appreciate your patience, flexibility and extra caution today as our officers prepare roads for the parade and as the parade travels through the neighborhood.

Woodbury Days is THIS WEEKEND! Get ready to join thousands of spectators for over 100 floats sharing Woodbury pride on Sunday.

📅 Sunday, August 30
⏰ 11 a.m.
📍 Route: Commonwealth Ave → Sherwood Rd → Woodlane Dr → Woodbury High School

Important information as you navigate the parade route:
- All roads used for the parade will close starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
- Access to Commonwealth Ave from Radio Dr will close at 10:15 a.m.
- All roads will reopen as soon as the parade passes that point, with Commonwealth Ave expected to reopen at Radio Dr around noon.
- All routes before Woodlane Dr will be open by 1 p.m.

Woodbury’s Fire Explorers have been hard at work training for this year’s annual Fire Explorer Challenge at the Minnesota State Fair!

The Fire Explorer Challenge takes place Friday, Aug. 28 at the Dan Patch Park Stage and includes multiple Explorer Posts from across Minnesota competing in various challenges. If you are planning a visit to the State Fair on Friday, please stop by and cheer on these incredible young adults!

Our three K9 teams recently excelled at their certification trials! This annual certification includes exercises in obedience, area and building searches, narcotics or firearm detection and more.

An extra shoutout to K9 Viktor and Officer Mattson for successfully completing their first certification trial since K9 school. One of them celebrated with a cheeseburger treat. 🍔

Officer Wessels with K9 Kane, Officer Boleen with K9 Echo, and Officer Mattson with K9 Viktor spend countless hours training to ensure they accomplish these exercises with excellence and precession. Their dedication was demonstrated by each of our K9 teams passing their certification with ease!
