Encouraging Kids, a private nonprofit 501c3 provides respite services for children 5-21 with disabilities. We also offer facilitated playgroups, parent education programs, professional development & teacher workshops, classes, & parent coaching. We also provide non-attorney special education advocacy and supervised visitation services throughout the state of NJ. We provide evidence-based, outcome-
focused classes, workshops, in-service trainings, keynotes, as well as one-on-one coaching for parents and teachers. We focus on finding the right presentation or training for each individual, family, school, or group that fits their needs, schedule, and budget. We will work with you to develop a program that works for your audience, time frame and budget constraints.
** We offer a variety of 2 hour, 4 hour, and all-day workshops. Contact us for a complete list of over 30 available topics to suit your needs. There is no single job as important and demanding as parenting. Our failure to give parents specific training for their very difficult job seems based on the assumption that if you are a human being, you should know how to raise one. We believe parents & guardians DO have the ability and motivation to raise their children well with adequate support and information. Our programs encourage parents to be critical thinkers and advocates for their children, themselves, and their families. Judgment is not part of the equation; we all make mistakes. We know those who attend our programs are already motivated to change. Every aspect of our programming has been developed with the belief that the stressful, frustrating, overwhelming job of parenting and teaching deserves appreciation, respect, support, and encouragement.
