After much public request for information, the Cannon County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following statement regarding compliance operations conducted on May 8, 2026, at Blue Wing Market.

The Cannon County Sheriff’s Office conducted compliance operations following community complaints and reports regarding the alleged sale of v**e and Hemp-Derived Cannabinoid Products (HDCP) to underage individuals.

During the operations, underage volunteers working under law enforcement supervision attempted to purchase restricted products from the business. During one interaction, an employee allegedly became concerned about possible law enforcement presence, questioned the juvenile regarding age, opened a v**e product, and handed the item to the juvenile during the transaction before later canceling the sale. The employee also allegedly requested to view the juvenile’s cellular phone after becoming concerned the interaction may have been recorded.

During a separate compliance check, a juvenile volunteer successfully purchased an HDCP product from the business.

The employee involved had previously failed two compliance checks and had previously been cited and warned that future violations would result in arrest.

The Cannon County Sheriff’s Office reminds the public that these are allegations and all individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. No juveniles were harmed or endangered during these operations.

The Cannon County Sheriff’s Office will continue compliance checks and investigations involving the unlawful sale of restricted products to minors.

Just to let everyone know, this is a SCAM! The major signs are the state seal has no actual words on it (all AI generated) and it has no name or vehicle description attached to the violation. Don’t give these people your hard earned money! If things like this look suspicious, call the county in question to confirm it’s legitimate before sending any payments.

**UPDATE!! Suspect has been located in Lakewood Park in Coffee County and is in custody**

*** Urgent Message ***

This is the Cannon County 9 1 1 Dispatch Center with an urgent message in the Espy Road area of Cannon County. Please be on the look out for a black male that is on the run from Coffee County authorities, last seen on Spry Rd off of Hollow Springs Rd in the southern part of Cannon County. Unknown age, last described as a black male, with no shirt, no shoes and dread locks running east. Please secure your vehicles and lock your doors. Suspect is possibly armed and dangerous !!! Any sighting, call 911 or 615-563-4322 immediately !!!

This call originated in Coffee County and we were notified about an hour and a half after the initial incident when he possibly crossed into Cannon County. We are actively assisting Coffee County in locating their suspect.

Today, three of our Correctional Deputies embark on their journey towards POST Certification. They will do an orientation class at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy today and begin the Police Academy on March 29th for 12 weeks of intense training to better prepare them to serve the community. FTO Watts has helped guide these recruits through the ins and outs of being a Deputy over the last few months.

Last night around 8:30 PM Bluewing market on old McMinnville Highway was robbed at gun point. The suspect is shown here. He was driving a red car (unknown tag, make, or model) and he parked across the road at the church adjacent to the store. When he left, he went towards Iconium Road from Manustown Road possibly headed towards Highway 53.

If anyone in the area has camera footage or may have seen this vehicle and could give a better description of what it is, or if you recognize the suspect, please call 615-563-1000 for Investigator Kenney Sullivan, or 615-563-4322 to contact Cannon County dispatch for immediate assistance. At this time, none of our leads have panned out and we were asking for the public’s help.
