Residents:
We had some severe storms role through the area yesterday and some potential for severe storms today. Our DPS crews were out immediately following the storm clearing debris from the roadways. If you have a tree down blocking the road please contact the DPS at 734-675-4919.
Also note that trash collection was stopped yesterday once the tornado sirens were activated. We are working with the collection company to have those routes collected in the next couple of days. Please be patient.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired DPS Supervisor Wally Tackett.

Wally retired on December 31, 2023, after an incredible 43 years of dedicated service to the City of Woodhaven. Throughout his career, Wally was known not only as a hardworking and committed employee, but also as a friend to many.

His years of service, kindness, and friendship made a lasting impact on our community and those who had the privilege of working alongside him. Wally will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his friends, former coworkers, and the many people he served throughout his career with the City.

Wally Tackett was born on April 5, 1962 to Kenneth and Erma Tackett. He grew up with his sister Selena in Woodhaven, Michigan. Please be advised that the regularly scheduled meeting of the Woodhaven City Council on
Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 5:00 pm has been cancelled due to a lack of quorum.

The City Council meeting will be rescheduled in accordance with applicable law and the
City of Woodhaven’s established meeting schedule.

*We anticipate the next regularly scheduled council meeting will take place on Sept 1, 2026*

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of former Woodhaven City Councilman Randy Odette.

Before being elected to the City Council, Randy dedicated many years of service to the Woodhaven community, serving on the Zoning Board of Appeals for 2 years, the Planning Commission for 6½ years, and the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) for 2½ years.
Randy's commitment to public service and his dedication to the City of Woodhaven will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working with him.
