Good morning everyone! We hope you all had an amazing long weekend spent with family, friends, and remembering the true meaning of Memorial Day as we honored the fallen heroes and veterans who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Now it’s time to get back at it because we still have a lot of exciting things happening at the Woodhull Volunteer Fire Department!

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Their courage, service, and dedication will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us also take a moment to reflect on those who gave everything for our country.

From all of us at the Woodhull Volunteer Fire Department, we thank our fallen heroes and their families for their sacrifice.

May we never forget the true meaning of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸🔥

In 1979 the Woodhull Fire Department began marking the graves of our deceased members with flag holders and memorial flags. A good share of those members are buried in Woodhull Cemetery and the number amounts to over 100 gravesites needing annual replacement of flags in the department flags holders that have been placed over those years. Marissa Schuchardt, granddaughter of Louis and Pat Young, along with her family, have placed flags in the Woodhull Cemetery for the last few years to honor the service of Grandpa Louis before his sudden passing in 2005. This is a significant task and we are very grateful for her efforts. Thank you Marissa.
