On Saturday, we had the honor of celebrating Ross Fogelquist on his 88th birthday, while also recognizing the 40th anniversary of his receiving the Nordstjärneorden (Order of the Polar Star) from the King of Sweden.

Ross’s extraordinary contributions to Sweden and the Swedish community in Oregon were reflected in the more than 200 guests gathered at Nordic Northwest to celebrate him. Thank you to all the incredible volunteers at New Sweden Cultural Heritage Society for organizing the event! And a huge congratulations, Ross!!

Please note that we are no longer able to do the coordination numbers at the Honorary Consulate in Seattle.

ATTENTION! There are new rules regarding how to apply for coordination numbers for Swedish citizens in the USA.

The application must now be made in person at one of the following three locations:
📍Embassy of Sweden in Washington, D.C.
📍Consulate General of New York
📍Consulate General of San Francisco

The Honorary Consulates can no longer accept applications. We understand that this may cause inconveniences to the Swedish community in the USA.

The Consulate General in Houston cannot yet accept applications but expects to be able to do so starting in the fall of 2026.

You must schedule appointments for coordination numbers online. All information can be found on our website.

On April 2, Seattle Kraken’s Swedish Superstar, Adam Larsson, is playing his 1000th NHL game!!
The Kraken are offering special tickets for this to celebrate him.
We do know that Adam does like seeing Swedish jerseys in the audience, so if you are able to go we know he will appreciate it! ☺️

We are happy to be hosting the SACC Seattle Glögg and Meatballs event on December 9.
We hope to see many of you there.

SACC Seattle’s annual Glögg and Meatballs event at the Swedish Consulate in Woodinville on Tuesday, December 9th at 6:00pm.

This has always been a fun event to start jultid. We’ll have glögg and meatballs, of course, as well as other light snacks and singing by the SWEA choir and children from the Swedish School.

We hope you’re able to join us! Participation is free for members, $20 for non-members. Registration and additional details are available via the SACC Seattle Eventbrite.
