🔴 POTENTIAL PUBLIC SAFETY POWER SHUTOFF 🔴
The Yolo County Office of Emergency Services (OES) wants to keep you informed about a potential PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) event that may occur this week, from Wednesday, August 30 to Thursday, August 31.
U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) is reporting the potential for - Periods of wildfire smoke that will impact portions of the Sacramento Valley. Additionally, they're reporting areas of moderate heat risk until Friday, when cooler temperatures and breezy winds are expected. There's also a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms on that day.
While PG&E anticipates a mild PSPS event locally, affecting the Putah Creek 1105 Circuit area near Hwy 29 West of CR-88 and impacting around 20 customers, it's important to stay prepared. PG&E has activated their Emergency Operations Center (EOC), and the National Weather Service (NWS) will issue a weather watch and red flag warning for our area.
