Twenty-five years ago the Cache Creek Conservancy was formed through the collaborative effort of individuals representing a broad spectrum of interests. All were focused on one thing: the health and restoration of Cache Creek. As we celebrate our 25th anniversary this year, please join us for events designed for you and your family to safely experience and enjoy outdoor spaces while connecting wit

h and protecting native habitat and wildlife. Please visit our 25th anniversary page for more: https://kindest.com/262156-25-for-25-years

The Cache Creek Conservancy (CCC) manages the 130-acre Cache Creek Nature Preserve, just a few miles west of Woodland, CA, which it helped to restore in 2000. The Nature Preserve site was a gravel mine prior to restoration and is now a prime example of how thoughtful and cooperative efforts can restore environmental beauty and provide opportunities for people to encounter native wildlife and plants. The Nature Preserve has five habitat types: oak savannah, native grassland, riparian forest, wetlands, and a garden important to the Native American community. CCC was at the forefront of establishing productive relationships among stakeholders with varied and competing interests. The innovation exhibited by the Conservancy and its partners was recognized at 2002 Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Awards for its sustainable partnership management of the Nature Preserve. CCC received the 2010-11 Education Award from the Soil and Water Conservation Society and the 2011 Steward of the Natural Environmental Award from Yocha Dehe Community Fund. CCC also implements Yolo County’s Cache Creek Area Plan to restore riparian and native vegetation along 15 miles of Cache Creek. CCC partners with local governmental and non-governmental entities to remove invasive weeds and restore riparian habitat. CCC has its license to hold easements for Swainson’s Hawk, an endangered species. Essential to its mission is the “Experience the Creek” environmental education program. Primarily designed for K-12 students, this program includes hands-on learning experiences that support State’s science and social science standards, including an extensive Native American component. CCC is piloting an active senior nature education program to promote outdoor experiences for adults over the age of 40.

⌛Midnight is approaching, and we need your help to get local students back into nature! 🐿️

We are currently at 22% of our goal to fund field trips to the Cache Creek Nature Preserve. These trips provide hands-on environmental education that many students wouldn't get otherwise.

Can you help us bridge the gap? Every gift—no matter the size—helps us provide busing, supplies, and guided tours for the next generation of environmental stewards.

Give by midnight tonight: https://www.bigdayofgiving.org/organization/cachecreekconservancy

🌿 Help Us Nurture the Next Generation of Environmental Stewards! 🌊
At Cache Creek Conservancy, we believe that the future of our watershed lies in the hands of our youth. Our educational programs take students out of the classroom and into nature—offering hands-on experiences with riparian ecosystems, water quality, and local biodiversity.

As Big Day of Giving 2026 approaches, we invite you to invest in environmental literacy. Your support directly funds:

🐢 Field trips to the creek for students of all ages.

🐢 Interactive presentations on ecological preservation.

🐢 Empowerment for the next generation of land stewards.

Together, we can ensure a healthy, vibrant future for our region. Every donation helps us inspire a lifelong dedication to the natural world.
