⚠️OUTBREAK IN CANTALOUPES⚠️: Illnesses in this outbreak are severe. Half of sick people are adults 65 or older, and a third are children 5 years or younger.

It can be hard to know which brand of whole cantaloupes were used in pre-cut fruit products. If you don’t know, the safest choice is to not eat it, especially if you’re at higher risk for severe Salmonella illness.

People who are more likely to get very sick from Salmonella include:

As a caregiver, you make sure your loved ones stay healthy and safe. Help your loved ones use their Medi-Cal dental benefits by scheduling regular dental check-ups. During a visit, dentists will check for and help prevent dental problems such as tooth decay and gum disease.

Medi-Cal members ages 21 and older are covered for one dental check-up a year.
