As we pause to remember 9/11, we honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, the men and women who ran toward danger, and the unity that spread across our country in the wake of the attacks.

This day is more than a date—it is a lasting reminder of courage and sacrifice. Our thoughts are with everyone on duty today, protecting their communities and our country. We thank you.

To honor this day, our on-duty Woodland Fire and Police crews, along with city officials, held a ceremony this morning in front of the Police Department. Later, six of your Woodland Firefighters joined 337 others in Sacramento to climb 110 flights of stairs—each carrying the name of a firefighter lost on 9/11. At the top, their names were placed and the bell was rung, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.

We will never forget.

🚒🥞 2025 WPFA 4th of July, Pancake Breakfast Supports Fire History! 🥞🚒

This year’s Woodland Professional Firefighters Association (WPFA) Annual 4th of July Pancake Breakfast raised over $5,300—and every dollar is going to the Woodland Fire Volunteer Support Branch!

The Support Branch, formed in 1997 by retired members of the former Woodland and Springlake Fire Departments, has been dedicated to preserving our local fire history for nearly three decades. As the caretakers of our antique fire apparatus, they’ve restored and maintained pieces of history that once protected our community—and continue to inspire future generations.

WPFA was proud to present this donation to support the ongoing work of this incredible group. Thank you to everyone who came out, grabbed a plate, and supported a great cause! This donation wouldn’t be possible without the outstanding support from our amazing community.

Great work C shift!!

This morning at approximately 2:50am all 3 Engines and Truck 3 were dispatched to a house fire on Buckeye St. When crews arrived on scene there was a home with the garage fully involved and the fire had extended into one neighboring residence. Engine 1 was first on scene and initiated fire attack. Crews were able to quickly gain control of the fire in both residences.

Fortunately all occupants and pets were able to get out safely and no injuries were sustained. There were also no injuries to any firefighters.

We would like to thank our neighboring agencies for responding and assisting on scene as well as with coverage of the city while our crews were committed to the incident. We would also like to thank PG&E for responding to assist with the shut off of gas and power to the affected homes.
