California’s housing crisis requires statewide action—and Yolo County communities deserve to benefit.
Yolo County Housing is proud to support a YES vote on Proposition 1 this November.
Prop. 1 is a $11.25 billion investment in affordable housing and homeownership programs—without raising taxes. It would help finance the homes, infrastructure, and supportive services needed by working families, seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, first-time homebuyers, farmworkers, students, and Californians experiencing homelessness.
If approved, Prop. 1 would invest in proven housing solutions, including:
* $5.1 billion for the Multifamily Housing Program
* $1.25 billion for veteran homeownership support
* $1.15 billion for supportive housing
* $750 million to reinvest in affordable-housing properties
* $600 million for CalHome
* $500 million for home-purchase assistance
* $500 million for infill infrastructure
* $450 million for farmworker housing
* Funding for student housing, Tribal housing, affordable-home preservation, and housing innovation
Cities and counties cannot solve the housing crisis alone. Proposition 1 would provide critical state resources to help local communities build and preserve affordable homes, expand homeownership opportunities, and help more people move out of homelessness and into stable housing.

We’re proud to see El Rio Villas featured in the Winters Express for its National Night Out celebration on August 4.

The event was a wonderful opportunity for residents to spend time with neighbors, connect with local first responders and community partners, and enjoy an evening focused on community and safety. Gatherings like National Night Out help strengthen relationships and create a more connected neighborhood.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make the evening a success. We’re proud of the sense of community at El Rio Villas and grateful to the Winters Express for highlighting this special event.

We were honored to host Congressman Mike Thompson and housing partners from across Yolo County to discuss the passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act.

Joined by local elected leaders and organizations working every day to expand affordable housing, we discussed how this bipartisan legislation can help speed housing production, support innovative homebuilding, and strengthen our communities.

NAHRO's August Advocacy Week 4: Bring Housing Home Week!

Yolo County Housing is proud to highlight how affordable housing and HUD programs support local families, strengthen communities, and create opportunity.

Housing advocacy starts locally. Sharing resident stories, meeting with elected officials, inviting community leaders to visit housing sites, and speaking up for affordable homes all help show the impact of housing programs.

With no Week 4 letter, we are joining housing advocates across the country in highlighting what housing and community development programs make possible in Yolo County.

NAHRO's August Advocacy Week 3: HOME and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)

HOME and CDBG provide essential federal funding that helps communities create and preserve affordable housing, support homeownership, improve infrastructure, and revitalize neighborhoods.

Yolo County Housing supports NAHRO’s call for Congress to invest $2 billion in HOME and $4.2 billion in CDBG for FY 2027.

Yolo County Housing is asking our community to help protect dependable federal funding for affordable housing.

OMB’s proposed rule could allow federal funding awards to be changed or ended after they are approved, making it harder for housing providers to plan and serve local families.

Please join NAHRO in asking Congress to oppose the rule and preserve stable funding for housing programs.
