Yolo County jobseekers are invited to an in-person Job Fair on Friday, June 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Woodland Community & Senior Center located at 2001 East Street in Woodland. This event will bring together more than 50 employers recruiting to fill full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions in industries including education, customer service, information technology (IT), healthcare, sales, food service, manufacturing, warehouse and hospitality.

The Yolo County Board of Supervisors approved a recruitment process and timeline for appointing a new Yolo County District Attorney following the retirement of District Attorney Jeff Reisig, effective May 15, 2026. Chief Deputy District Attorney Melinda Aiello will continue serving as Acting District Attorney during the recruitment and appointment process.

Agricultural Commissioner Humberto Izquierdo is urging residents to take immediate precautions after the invasive glassy-winged sharpshooter was detected on grape plants sold at Sacramento area Costco stores, including the Woodland store. This leafhopper spreads Pierce’s disease, a bacterial infection that is fatal to grapevines and can also damage almond, citrus and ornamental plants, posing a significant threat to California agriculture and home gardens. The pest does not pose a threat to humans or animals.

County staff received a tour update this week at the new Walnut Park Library construction site in South Davis and were excited to see the significant progress made since the last visit. The project remains on track for a grand opening celebration on Saturday, November 7, at 9 a.m.

Yolo County offices will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. Normal business hours will return on Tuesday, May 26. Emergency services and the landfill will operate uninterrupted.
