Woodland Joint Unified School District WJUSD proudly serves nearly 10,000 students from preschool through adult education in the communities of Woodland, Knights Landing, Yolo, and Zamora.

Our mission is to prepare and empower all students for a future of endless possibilities. Woodland Joint Unified School District (WJUSD) was formed in July 1965, when it united elementary and high school districts. The District is comprised of 26 schools, ranging from preschool to senior high school instruction, and more than 1,000 staff members. In addition to core programs, the District offers c

urriculum for English Language Learners, special needs, gifted and talented, preschool, independent study, and home schooling students, as well as a variety of adult programs. WJUSD is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees, and serves an ethnic and culturally enriched population in a 305-square-mile-area that serves students in Woodland, Knights Landing, Yolo and Zamora. Social Media Commenting Policy: We welcome engagement, both positive and constructive via our social media channels. Posts and comments are monitored regularly and we work to respond in a timely manner. We do not allow comments which target or attack specific students, staff or community members, use vulgar or otherwise inappropriate language, share private or confidential information, advocate or suggest illegal acts or which violate Board Policy, Education Code, or other laws. Any inappropriate posts or comments will be deleted.

Exciting progress is happening this summer at several WJUSD schools through the “Cool Schools” project! 🌳

Construction is now underway as crews finalize landscaping preparations and begin to add new pathways, playground features, trees, and green spaces designed to create cooler, more welcoming campuses for students.

We can't wait to share the finished transformations with our community!

At the June 11 Regular Board Meeting, the Board of Trustees recognized two observances that celebrate our diverse community and shared history.

📜 The Board approved a resolution recognizing LGBTQ Pride Month and presented it to local business owner and ally Sarah Larkin.

📜 The Board also approved a resolution recognizing and celebrating Juneteenth and presented it to the WJUSD African-American Parent Advisory Committee (AAPAC) in memory of community leader and advocate Marilyn Hays.

Thank you to the individuals and organizations who help strengthen our community! ❤️

Durante la reunión regular de la Mesa Directiva del 11 de junio, los miembros de la Mesa reconocieron dos conmemoraciones que celebran la diversidad de nuestra comunidad y nuestra historia compartida.
