The California Secretary of State and the Yolo County Elections Office each conducted a random drawing on Thursday, August 13, 2026, of the letters of the alphabet in accordance with Elections Code section 13112.

The nomination period for the following offices on the ballot for the November 3, 2026, General Election has been extended until Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. for contests where an eligible incumbent did not file their nomination papers by the end of the nomination period at 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2026. The nomination period extension is only applicable to candidates other than the incumbent.

On Friday, August 7th, 2026, the Yolo County Elections Office hosted a Swearing-In Ceremony for Melinda Aiello, District Attorney of Yolo County, in the Atrium of the Yolo County Administration Building in Woodland.

Jesse Salinas, Yolo County Assessor/Clerk-Recorder and Registrar of Voters, opened the ceremony with welcoming remarks and congratulated District Attorney Aiello on this important milestone.

The ceremony was attended by members of the public, colleagues, community members, and distinguished Yolo County leaders who gathered to celebrate and welcome the newly sworn-in District Attorney.

Yolo County Elections Office will hold a randomized alphabet drawing at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, to determine the order in which candidates' names appear on the November 3, 2026, General Election ballot.
The drawing for candidates running for Member of the State Assembly, District 4 will be conducted at the Yolo County Elections Office at 625 Court Street, Room B05, Woodland, CA 95695.
