Wow! Thank you to everyone that came out to our 4th Annual Back to School Bash!!

We ended up with a record number of vendors set up to pass out school supplies to over 200 kids:

Not only were we able to stuff backpacks but also stuff bellies thanks to Monroe Central FFA who was making cotton candy, Headstart and First Baptist Church making shaved ice, Sasha Keevert and Kelly Thoman making popcorn and Monroe SWCD serving hotdogs!

Broken Timber had their new BB gun trailer for the kids to try. As well as the MSWCD education trailer was open!

We also had a clothes closet thanks to Trinity & St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

We want to give a HUGE shout out to everyone who set up, the community for showing up, thank you to the Fairboard for letting us have this event on the grounds and last our staff and board for putting all the hard work in to put this event together. Without everyone this would not be possible. We look forward to next year!!

This meeting is an opportunity for landowners, farmers, community members and local organizations to get together to discuss the natural resource concerns facing Monroe County. Input and ideas from the local community help guide conservation priorities and future programs in our area.

We can't wait until Thursday to see everyone, there are so many exciting things planned!

The weather does look a little rainy but the event will go on rain or shine, if needed we will move the event indoors! Follow along for updates the day of.

I know that no one wants to think about school butttt Our 4th Annual Back to School Bash is coming up quick!! And what better way to take off some of the burden of that back to school supply list then coming out for a day of Fun, Sun & Outdoor education!!

If you would like to set up at the event with a school supply or activity please call the office to register!

We look forward to seeing all of the amazing local businesses, offices and groups that come out and support this event.

We spent the first part of our week in Newark at our Summer Supervisor School. We had 2 wonderful days of tours and breakout sessions!

Last night we held our Grazing Meeting at Bruce & Judy Jones' Farm. We had 66 people come to listen to our awesome presenters Seth Jarrell and Robert Moore talk about Pasture leases & Virtual Fencing. Huge thank you to our Staff and Board for putting on the event. Thank you Jones Family (Bruce, Judy, Jordan, Sheri and families) for hosting the event. Thank you to our presenters for coming and giving out such good information. And last but not least Thank you to everyone who showed up for this event. Your continued support of Monroe SWCD is wonderful and we are so thankful for all of you! OSU Extension is hosting a Virtual Meeting on Farm Succession July 27th, for more information reach out to Catelyn Turner at OSU Extension.
