Happy Juneteenth.

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, but it is also a reminder that freedom delayed is freedom denied. More than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free. Their joy, resilience, and determination in the face of injustice became part of the story of our nation.

Today, we honor those who endured, those who fought for liberty, and those who continue working to ensure that opportunity, dignity, and equality are not privileges for some, but rights for all.

As we celebrate, may we remember that progress is not something we inherit. It is something we build together through courage, compassion, and a commitment to one another.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Juneteenth filled with reflection, gratitude, and hope for the future. ❤️

The Republican responses that we have heard so far have been entirely about addressing this symptom. None are about trying to address the underlying disease.
