A reminder of why it’s important to write for Florida Vote by Mail: Florida voters who are enrolled in Vote by Mail, whether they choose to vote in person or by mail, are TWICE as likely to vote as people who are not enrolled. Postcards to Voters only writes to registered Democrats to encourage them to take part. The boost in sign-up as our cards reach the intended households, county by county as we write, is immediate, and dramatic.
Currently, enrollment expires right after the general election, so depending on when voters reenrolled, or enrolled for the first time, one sign-up can last for up to two years. I discovered when I moved to Florida six years ago, that there can be at least as many as three elections in a year, so being enrolled for two years can cover quite a lot of elections, depending on what local or special elections take place.
Voters have the option to request notification by text, email, voicemail, or all, of when their county Election Commission receives the mail-in ballot. It’s very satisfying and reassuring to receive a message from your Election Commission saying, “Your vote has been received and counted.”
If we are going to flip Florida blue, again, it will take persistent grassroots effort like ours. Thank you for taking part in bolstering the Florida Democratic vote!
