As of this writing, there are fewer than 160 addresses remaining for Volusia County. Meanwhile, our newest county to help strengthen the habit of voting among Florida Democrats is Alachua. We are 13.9% complete which means more of us are needed to request 5 addresses apiece - please!

The recent Supreme Court ruling did not address the merits of the arguments. Nothing has changed with Vote By Mail. We still see this project to mail handwritten reminders to our Sunshine State voters to enroll/re-enroll in VBM to be key to flipping more seats blue.

With more Republicans than ever heeding the word from “on high” that Mail-in ballots are bad, now’s the time to boost Democratic voter enrollment.

We are writing to the counties that our Florida partners tell us are priorities. This assessment is based on which counties have close congressional and/or state legislative contests. Our work could give Democratic candidates the winning edge in November without us having to specifically write postcards for them.

Plus, voters with mail-in ballots are much more likely to fill out and vote their full ballots. Unlike harried voters standing in line at a polling place who typically mark the top few higher profile races and leave the rest blank.

If you want your time, donated postage, and postcards to realistically have the most good at helping Democrats win up and down the ballot, this is the project that could help so many develop a much stronger habit of voting. It will serve them beyond this next election if they can see how easy it is to enroll and vote by mail.

What are you doing this weekend? Do you have time to write some cards for Polk County Florida Vote by Mail? Pretty soon we’ll be inundated with candidate campaigns for the midterms. Let’s prepare the ground ahead of time to maximize the Florida Democratic vote.

For those who don’t know, I’m a Florida voter. Since I moved here, going on seven years ago, I’ve voted only by mail.
About four years back, I noticed the availability and signed up for voting notifications from the county. Now, every time I vote by mail, within a week I receive a text and an email saying, “Your vote has been received and counted.” Vote by Mail does work. It’s safe, reliable, and secure. Because enrollees are twice as likely to vote whether they choose to vote in person or by mail, let’s encourage Florida Democrats to take advantage of it.
