Congratulations to this week’s Cat’s Meow Award recipient, Ms. Samantha Daugherty!

Ms. Daugherty does so much for Mill Creek, but she is never one to seek recognition. So, we are happy to celebrate her!

In addition to teaching STEM, Ms. Daugherty chairs MISS, serves on School Council, and is an active member of our Instructional Leadership Team. She takes on each responsibility with dedication, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to making Mill Creek better.

Despite wearing so many hats, Ms. Daugherty never loses her passion for teaching or the joy she brings to her work. She is an incredible teammate who contributes innovative ideas, values collaboration, and is always willing to support others.

Through it all, she remains humble, kind, and a pleasure to work alongside.

Thank you, Ms. Daugherty, for your leadership, hard work, and commitment to our Wildcats. We are fortunate to have you at Mill Creek!

🕵️‍♀️🔎 **A Crime Scene in FACS?!** 🚨🍽️

Ms. Sprinkles’ FACS classes put their detective skills to the test today! Students investigated a “crime scene” to uncover kitchen safety hazards and then searched the classroom for additional sanitation issues. 🧤🧼

From spotting safety risks to identifying proper sanitation practices, our Wildcats learned that keeping a kitchen safe and clean takes a keen eye for detail! 👀✨

**Case closed… and safety skills sharpened!** 🕵️‍♂️🐾

🌎🌱 **From the Classroom to the Garden!** 🌽🥕

Who knew learning about space could help us grow a garden? 🚀

Students in Mrs. Vogel’s class have been researching which crops grow best in Woodstock, GA, during the spring and fall. Then, using globes and flashlights, they explored how Earth’s tilt and revolution around the sun create the seasons and influence the best times to plant different crops.

From understanding our planet to planning our garden, our Wildcats are putting science into action! 🌞🌿 We can’t wait to see what grows! 💚

📝 **Desk Graffiti in 7th Grade ELA!** 🎨

Students in Ms. Andrews’ seventh-grade ELA class kicked off their next unit with an engaging round of *Desk Graffiti!* Students responded to the prompt, “What are the characteristics of a good friend?” by sharing their thoughts right on their desks. Then, they rotated around the room to read and respond to their classmates’ ideas.

This interactive activity encouraged students to learn from one another, explore different perspectives, and reflect on what makes a great friend. Who knew learning could be this much fun? 🐾💛💙
