It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Captain Dawn Neal Ellsworth, a beloved member of The Rescue Squad who faithfully served the Woodstock Fire Department and our local communities for over 25 years, she leaves behind so many who loved and cherished her.

Her kindness, courage, leadership, and dedication will never be forgotten. Dawn guided many people in the EMS world making everyone she encountered a better provider. She was unforgettable and will be deeply missed.

We extend our deepest condolences to Dawn’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving alongside her.

Rest easy, Captain. We’ll take it from here. 🚑

🌡️ PREPARING FOR THE HEAT: WOODSTOCK COOLING CENTERS 🌡️

With high temperatures forecasted for this weekend, the Town of Woodstock is preparing cooling center locations to help residents stay safe and comfortable during periods of extreme heat.

Our primary cooling centers will be available according to the posted schedule. Please note that Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5 cooling center operations will be activated as needed based on weather conditions and community demand. Updates will be shared through the Town’s official communication channels.

All locations are fully air-conditioned and provide seating and clean drinking water. If you have elderly neighbors, family members, or anyone who may be vulnerable to heat-related illness, please take a moment to check in on them.

💧 Heat Safety Reminders
• Stay hydrated and drink water regularly.
• Limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon temperatures.
• Wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.
• Never leave children or pets in vehicles.
• Seek air-conditioned spaces if your home becomes too warm.

🤝 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Town is seeking volunteers to assist with cooling center operations should extended heat conditions occur. Volunteers may help with welcoming visitors, distributing water, providing information, and assisting staff with general operations.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Town of Woodstock as soon as possible or send us a direct message with your contact information.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made our car show on Sunday a huge success!
We had nearly 80 absolutely beautiful cars! The weather was perfect and it was a fun filled day.
A huge thank you to the local businesses who made very generous donations to our event, Alba's Kitchen, The Bear Cantina, Sunflower Market, Woodstock Hardware, Woodstock Meats, Village Apothecary, Catskill Mountain Pizza Co., Montano's Shoe Store, Kenco Outfitters, Lynch Auto Parts, Stewart's Shops, The Cornell Restaurant + Bar, Rip Van Winkle Brewing Company, Woodstock Building Supply and Hannaford Supermarkets.
We are so proud to be a part of such a giving and supportive community!

We are so proud of our Paramedic Melissa Dupree for successfully mentoring an Onteora Central School District student through their amazing Community Mentorship Program.
Melissa is a strong asset to our community, and we are so proud to have her.
"The Community Mentor Program offers students in Grades 11-12 the opportunity to pursue their interests and passions—and perhaps their future careers—with the guidance of community-based professionals.
Throughout the semester-long program, each participating student is paired with a mentor from the community who supports and guides their learning journey. Meetings take place regularly, outside of school hours, demonstrating the dedication of both the students and our community."

Congratulations to Jasmine Barker! We are so excited to see where your future takes you!
