Last week, we had the honor of recognizing Sergeants Cipolla and Dolan as they officially marked their well-earned retirements after many years of dedicated service to our department and community.

Their leadership, professionalism, and commitment to serving others have left a lasting impact on this organization and on the officers who have had the privilege to serve alongside them. Their careers reflect years of integrity, sacrifice, and dedication to public safety.

As part of their retirement, they added their names to our department’s retirement plaque displayed in our lobby—a lasting reminder of the legacy they leave behind and the impact they have made within our department.

We thank both Sergeants for their years of service and wish them nothing but happiness, health, and success in this next chapter.

Congratulations, Sgt. Cipolla and Sgt. Dolan—your service and legacy will not be forgotten.

We are incredibly proud to share that one of our own has been recognized for extraordinary courage and dedication to duty.

Officer Marino was honored this week with a Valor Award from the 100 Club—a distinction reserved for those who go above and beyond in service to others, often in the face of great personal risk.

Officer Marino was nominated for his extraordinary valor following a September incident in which he entered a burning residence, located an immobilized, wheelchair-bound resident in heavy smoke, and carried her to safety. He remained by her side until Woodstock Fire/Rescue District personnel arrived and assumed care.

In that moment, he demonstrated calm under pressure, decisive action, and an unwavering commitment to protecting others. His actions reflect the very best of our profession and serve as a powerful reminder of the courage and selflessness shown by law enforcement officers each and every day.

We are grateful for the recognition from the 100 Club, and even more grateful to have Officer Marino serving our community. Please join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved honor.
