Three sacraments. One day. One teenager who decided it was time.

Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation are usually spread out over years, sometimes over a whole childhood. This young man did all three at once, which meant the classes, the preparation, and the commitment all happened in a much shorter window than most people ever have to manage.

I keep coming back to how rare it is to see a teenager lead like that. We talk a lot about kids needing role models. Sometimes the role model is fifteen and sitting three pews over.

Grateful I got to be there with my camera for it. 🤍

If your parish's staff photos or bulletin headshots look a little too smooth, people notice. AI generated images are quick, but they don't build trust the way a real photo does.

I work with churches and faith communities across Atlanta capturing headshots and photos that actually feel like your people, not a stock image with something slightly off in the hands.

Baptism is chapter one. First Communion is chapter two. And somewhere between the two, there's a kid who has no idea how big this all is, but you will remember every second of it.

That's the thing about photographing sacraments. It's not just the ceremony, it's the tiny hand being held steady, the outfit picked out weeks in advance, the whole family standing shoulder to shoulder in the same church they've stood in for years.

People remember the big moments of a baptism: the blessing, the anointing, the walk to the font. But some of my favorite frames are the quiet details that often go unnoticed.

Gold catching the light. Water in a silver font. An icon of Mary and Jesus tucked into a corner. These are the little details that tell the story of a parish, and I love getting to capture them.

There's something about a baptism that feels so special.

Grandparents holding a baby that carries their name. Aunts and uncles who flew in just for this. The whole extended family standing together in one room for a faith tradition that's been passed down for generations. In the Catholic Church, baptism is about welcoming a new member into our faith and there is nothing more special.

These aren't just photos. They're the ones that end up framed on a mantel, or the last one grandma got to see before she passed. That's the weight I carry into every baptism session.

Working with women entrepreneurs might be my favorite part of this job.

I get it. I am one. Building something from scratch while trying to look like you have it together is its own kind of hard, and half the time you're doing it alone.

So when a woman running her own business sits down in front of my camera, I'm not just taking her headshot. I'm watching her step into the version of herself that's already doing the thing. That part never gets old.
