A new chapter began last evening as we officially welcomed the LGMC Core Class of 2027.

Our Board of Trustees and Alumni Committee warmly welcomed participants, who connected with fellow class members and received tools and resources to help them thrive in the year ahead.

A highlight of the evening was the meaningful "passing of the torch" from the Class of 2026, symbolizing the continuation of a strong legacy of leadership, growth, and community impact.

We are excited to watch this class learn, lead, and make an impact in the community.

On this International Youth Day, LGMC proudly celebrates 10 years of empowering youth.

For the past decade, our Youth Program has provided opportunities for learning, leadership, service, and personal growth. The young people we serve continue to inspire us with their creativity, resilience, and dedication to making a difference.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey including our amazing Alumni who founded the Program and continue to serve the Youth of McHenry County. Here's to celebrating our youth today and investing in their future for years to come.

What an amazing start for the LGMC Youth Class of 2027!
Enjoy this video highlighting the Youth Opening Retreat held at Loyola University Retreat and Ecology Campus (LUREC). The retreat was designed to help students begin their LGMC journey by building connections, discovering their strengths, and forming the foundation of their leadership teams.

From team-building activities to meaningful conversations, students left the retreat with new friendships, a stronger sense of belonging, and a deeper understanding of how their unique strengths can contribute to their success.

Excited to see where this journey takes them!

Last night we kicked off the LGMC Youth Class of 2027 with an Orientation for students and parents. It’s a celebratory time, as this is the 10-year anniversary of this program. Created by members of the Core Class of 2015, this program offers area high school students an opportunity to enhance community awareness and knowledge and to develop leadership skills. This is intended to empower and motivate them to become involved and committed to our community.
