Watch out for this! Good info to keep up on!

Heads up! There are some AI-generated videos making the rounds on YouTube falsely stating that senior citizens can cap their property taxes by filing a federal "1098-SR" form. This is absolutely false - there is no such thing as a 1098-SR form.

A list of the exemptions you already have are printed on your property tax bill.

The good news is that senior citizen homeowners can claim a number of legitimate exemptions and freezes through the McHenry County Assessor's Office! Visit https://www.mchenrycountyil.gov/departments/assessments/exemptions to learn more.
