Discover the artists of Salem County during your self-guided driving tour of artists’ studios on May 16 (10 am-5 pm) & May 17 (11 am-4 pm). The tour is a great way to discover the creative talent scattered throughout Salem County.

Meet over 40 artists (including many award winners), explore their studios, and see their work. On the tour, you will find fine art, pottery, photography, fiber arts, jewelry, and more. Bring the children; they will enjoy our Dig Into Art locations where they can make their own artwork. There is something for all ages . . . and wonderful items to purchase at all the sites.

Salem Community College's Glass Education Center offers degree programs in Scientific Glass Technology (only of its kind in US) and Glass Art, and non-credit glass workshops. The GEC hosts the annual International Flameworking Conference.

On August 5, please pick up your work at Friends between 10-12. If you are a first place winner, we will wrap and store your work.

SALEM COUNTY ART LEAGUE PRESENTS:

Plein Air Calendar 2025

Plein Air Event Notes. Be respectful of properties. All sites are carry in-carry out (trash and paintng/art equipment, etc.). If you use water in your process, bring your own water, bring a disposal jug as well. Some locatons may not have restroom facilities available to the public.

1. Dog and Ram Spirits, 19 Seabrook Rd, Mannington, NJ. Dog and Ram drinks available for a fee (legal drinking age). Saturday, June 28th 2:00-6:00.

2. Helms Cove Tavern, historic location on, private residence, 24 East Maple St. Penns Grove,NJ. Saturday July 12th 2025 11:00 – 3:00.

3. Fort Mott Park. 454 Fort Mo Rd, Pennsville, NJ 08070-9646. Historic site with river views, fortificatons and buildings. Saturday, August 16th 2025. 11:00 - 3:00

Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the
Alex Alampi Award:

ALEX ALAMPI AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN ART

The Salem County Art League is accepting applications from graduating Seniors from Salem County for the tenth annual Alex Alampi Award for Excellence in Art. The deadline for submission for the $500 award is Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Seniors applying for the award will need to submit the application form, an essay, a letter of reference, and three non-returnable samples of artwork.
The award acknowledges outstanding artistic talent demonstrated by a graduating senior art student in drawing, painting, sculpting, pottery, and/or other artistic media created by hand. The award is named in memory of Alex Alampi who was a lifelong resident of South Jersey and an award-winning artist. Alex Alampi wanted to give a glimpse of the beauty and history that resides in the meadows, creeks, and fields that we pass by every day. As a watercolor painter, Alex used a combination of beautiful transparent washes, strong composition, and crisp detail to create realistic and captivating paintings. Alex Alampi was one of the founders of the Salem County Art League. Alex passed away suddenly in September 2015.
