As we continue to celebrate National Emergency Management Awareness Month, please take time to make or review your family emergency plans.
There is no off-season for emergency management.
When one season ends, another begins. As hazards change throughout the year, so do the priorities. Plans are reviewed, exercises are conducted, partnerships are strengthened, and lessons learned are put into practice. The work continues because preparedness isn't something that starts when an emergency is approaching. It's built over time.
That's why emergency management is a year-round profession.
Emergency managers: What's one priority you're focused on this time of year? Share it in the comments and help others better understand what year-round emergency management looks like.
