🔥 WILDFIRE WARNING: HIGH RISK on Monday, MS!

We are urging all Mississippians to voluntarily stop all plans of outdoor burning on Monday due to conditions that are highly favorable for rapid wildfire spread. Low humidity and high winds are the concern.

What to AVOID on Monday:
❌ Debris Burning
❌ Campfires, Bonfires, and Fire Pits
❌ Burning leaves or brush

9 out of 10 wildfires are caused by humans. Please do your part to protect our homes, forests, and firefighters. Wait until conditions improve.

Good morning Woodville-Wilkinson County, in preparation for tomorrow's Wilkinson County Homecoming Parade, we would like to inform all attendees that parking will be prohibited on Water Street, as it will function as an alternate traffic and emergency route. Any vehicles parked on Water Street will be towed at the owner's expense. Please use the available parking spaces located behind the Woodville Police Department.

A Fire Weather (Red Flag) Warning is in effect from 7 AM to 9 PM Thursday due to low humidity and wind gusts up to 30 mph. It's recommended that you refrain from burning under these conditions.

Note WATER STREET is to remain clear, no parking. Routes must be clear for emergency traffic.

October 04, 2024 the Wilkinson County School District homecoming parade will begin at 1:00pm at the intersection of Main and Sligo Street near the Woodville Methodist Church. The parade route will go as illustrated in the diagram below. We are asking individuals to not park on the parade route nor on water street as that will be designated for emergency vehicles and thru traffic. Please feel free to utilize any available parking space at the Woodville Police Department. Any vehicles parked on water street are subject to be towed at the owners expense.
