Red Cross will have 3 events the next few months opening the opportunity to expand their volunteers. There is a need for more volunteers in the world today and this is a GREAT opportunity to help.
The first event will be taking place in San Augustine. While the San Augustine event is the first in the series, we are actively seeking volunteers from all surrounding counties, as strengthening our regional volunteer network helps ensure we are better prepared to serve communities across Southeast and Deep East Texas during times of disaster.
In addition to the San Augustine Open House, we will also be hosting:
Orange County - June - Open House. Surrounding Counties welcome
Liberty County - July - Open House. Surrounding Counties welcome.
Volunteers are essential to the mission of the American Red Cross, and every new volunteer helps expand our ability to respond quickly and effectively when disasters occur.

Keep an eye on the weather this afternoon! The US National Weather Service Lake Charles Louisiana reports the environment is conditionally supportive of isolated cell-structure thunderstorms. We are seeing showers attempt to bubble up into a thunderstorm, but largely they aren't making it to the mature stage. Forcing will increase for a brief period where storms may intensify - roughly 4 - 7 PM. For those storms that can develop, expect large hail and damaging downdrafts.
This threat is limited to southeast TX counties but extreme west LA may have a rogue storm wander across the Sabine.

Just keep an eye on the sky!
