Online Tools for Prescribed Fire: Mesonet OK-FIRE Prescription Planner

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Enter desired weather conditions for your burn unit (air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, etc.)
2) Select desired wind direction on dial
3) See dates/times when forecasted weather conditions meet your prescription

Commonly selected weather conditions for prescribed burning:
- 40-80% relative humidity
- 4-15 mph wind speed
- 35-110°F air temperature

Outdoor Classroom 2026 was a huge success! Last week’s cold front had us a little worried, but we were fortunate to have PERFECT weather! The presentations were wonderful as always, and the kids had a blast engaging with each one.

A new presenter this year was the Corps of Engineers, who shared an excellent presentation about water safety. Next year, they may even bring a boat!

A big thank you to all of our presenters, teachers, staff, and our faithful sponsor, Farm Credit, for continuing to make this event such a success year after year!
