Local Bank Robbed, Suspect in Custody
On July 24th the Seiling State Bank, located at 2314 Williams Ave., was robbed.
The Woodward Communications Center received a panic alarm from Seiling State Bank at around 11:45 am. Police responded to the bank and were provided with the suspect’s description and direction of travel. Responding officers apprehended the suspect within a few blocks of the bank.
According to a bank employee, the suspect entered the bank and walked up to the counter. The suspect handed the teller a handwritten note with a dollar amount and his name. The suspect asked for a withdrawal in the amount written on the note stating, “Just give it to me.”
The teller attempted to find an account for the suspect when he demanded she just give him the money. The teller handed him a bundle of cash consisting of a pre-determined amount. The suspect then left the bank.
When apprehended, the suspect had an amount of cash on his person equaling the pre-determined amount in the bundle the teller handed him.
The suspect was booked into the Woodward County Jail on a complaint of First Degree Robbery, pending involvement of the FBI.
The suspect’s name is being withheld until he is formally charged.

Summer is upon us and we are seeing more and more battery powered bicycles, scooters, and other devices on the roadways of our city.
The number of juveniles riding these devices without paying proper attention to the motoring public could potentially lead to a serious incident, especially with schools being out and people having more free time.
We at the Woodward Police Department want everyone to be safe while they are having fun enjoying their time in the sun and we definitely do not want any serious injuries to occur.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform everyone enjoying their new modes of transportation that the City of Woodward does have rules regarding them.
