This is one of the harder posts I think I will have made on here. I’m still not sure how to feel about it but they say all good things have to come to and end and all that I can say is wow. Last night Doug “Marvel” Farris signed a retirement slip after 51 YEARS! 51! That’s longer than most of the fireman have been alive and I am certain that is the record. Some would say thats “Marvelous” (inside joke). He has been a fixture on the fire department as long as many can remember and seen it all. A true local hero. Mentor to many. We will miss the coat and helmet only look standing at the pump panel and the well thought out one line comebacks. Every one of us has been called rainbow for showing up late for the fire or missing a call. When asked why rainbow he would say cause they show up after the storm! Doug did not miss many calls in his 51 years and was still very active until his retirement. Thank You for all of your service Doug and enjoy your retirement. You have earned it! Side note I had to dig back to 2014 for this photo!

Last night we did a CPR refresher with the one and only Brian Baldwin. We covered some of the changes that have been sent out and practiced some new techniques. Along with this we went over our specific AED systems that we carry on the trucks. Always a fun time when Baldwin comes to town!

At our monthly meeting we had a donation from one of our previous raffles donated back. In the spirit of thanksgiving we decided to fancy it up and give it away to a fireman in our own raffle with chances based on years of service. Tyler Krueger was the winner tonight. Thank You to Brian Goergen and Boyd’s for donating the stock and Justin Wambach for donating it back. Also Creative Web for the engraving!
