Today was a day to celebrate, recognize, and honor our WWII Veterans.
Wayne County is blessed to have eight WWII Veterans, and we were honored to have seven join us today. To be among individuals who put service over self and were part of such an impactful time in our nation’s history is truly a privilege.
A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Brigadier General Chad E. Holesko, Ohio Deputy Assistant Adjutant General for Air; Master Sergeant Josh Hayman for his beautiful rendition of our National Anthem; and the 555th Honors Detachment for posting the colors.
We are also incredibly grateful to Greystone Event Center, the Wayne County Historical Society, JoyRide Transportation, and especially all of our Wayne County Veterans and WWII family members who joined us. Your presence and support helped make this recognition such a meaningful and successful event.
Most importantly, to our WWII Veterans—thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and the legacy you have given us. We will not forget. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙 Photos of the days event will follow once received.
