As we wrap up this year’s Ed Arn Round Table, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Greg Long Military Museum and the Wayne County Historical Society Jeff Mussleman and Mark Sheppard for inviting the Wayne County Veterans Service Commission to be a part of this meaningful event and for collaborating with us to make it possible. Their partnership and dedication to preserving and sharing our military history helped create an atmosphere of respect, reflection, and understanding.
Most importantly, we want to thank our Wayne County Veterans who courageously opened up and shared deeply personal and sensitive discussions with all who attended. Your willingness to speak about your experiences provided powerful insight into the sacrifices, challenges, and realities endured while protecting our Country and our Freedom.
This year’s Round Table was very well attended, and it was encouraging to see so many individuals come together to listen, learn, and support our veterans. We look forward to continuing these important conversations at future Round Tables.
Events like this provide our community with an opportunity to witness even just a small piece of what our veterans endure in service to our nation. May we never take their sacrifices for granted.

As we wrap up this incredible week, the Wayne County Veterans Service Commission would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations and deepest gratitude to the 20 graduating seniors from across Wayne County who have chosen a path of service by enlisting in the United States Armed Forces.
In a time when freedom continues to require courage, commitment, and sacrifice, these young men and women have stepped forward to answer a calling greater than themselves. Their decision to serve our nation reflects honor, character, and a willingness to protect the freedoms we all hold dear. Wayne County can be proud knowing the future of our Armed Forces includes such dedicated and inspiring individuals.
To each graduate preparing to wear the uniform of the United States military — thank you. Thank you for your bravery, your patriotism, and your commitment to something bigger than self. We wish each of you the very best of luck as you begin this new journey and chapter of life. May you carry the support, pride, and appreciation of your community with you wherever your path leads. We pray for your safety, success, strength, and the lifelong friendships and opportunities your service will bring.
The Wayne County Veterans Service Commission would also like to sincerely thank all of the Wayne County schools who welcomed us into their awards and recognition ceremonies this week. It was truly an honor to stand beside you in recognizing these students and their commitment to military service. Your willingness to highlight and celebrate these graduates demonstrates the respect and appreciation your schools have for those who choose to serve our nation.
Thank you for allowing the WCVSC to be a small part of such meaningful moments in the lives of these graduates and their families. Together, as a community, we continue to show that service, sacrifice, and patriotism matter in Wayne County.
Congratulations again to the Class of 2026 Military Enlistees — your community is proud of you, grateful for you, and standing behind you every step of the way. Best wishes to each of you as you embark on this honorable journey of service to our nation. 🇺🇸
